My Favorite Go-To Jackets

My friends say I have a problem with how much I love jackets and how many I have. However, I prefer the term “over appreciation“. Some people just look at jackets as a way to keep you warm, but I see them as another chance to show your personality through your style. If I go into a store, it’s a big deal if I don’t walk out with a new jacket in my bag.

And since I have so many and love them so much, I thought about making a list of my go-to jackets that I absolutely love and think are versatile for multiple looks throughout the week and the inevitable winter heading our way.

1. Corduroy Jacket

This corduroy jacket is one of the best investments I have made as of late. Fashion is coming back with the vintage looks from the ’90s and ’80s especially with Strangers Things becoming huge. I mean, who doesn’t love Stranger Things?!

You don’t have to put much thought into what you pair with it because the jacket is the statement piece. So you can just add some basic grey, white, or neutral green shirts underneath with just some basic jeans and boots and you’re all set to bring on the #tbt look

2. Fur-lined Denim Jacket

I have said before that denim jackets are my all time favorite, but I will admit that they aren’t always the warmest. But that’s why you put fur in it! Faux fur obvi.

My favorite way to wear this jacket is a full denim-on-denim look like Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s AMAs 2001 red carpet look. But I chose to separate the denim by wearing a darker wash to make the jacket stand out here. You can’t go wrong with either look because the ’90s knew what they were doing with their fashion! (Anyone want to time travel back to the ’90s/early ’00s?? 😂😂).

3. Bomber Jacket

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 preset I have had this jacket for over a year now and honestly, it is my one true go-to. Bomber jackets, inspired from what the WWII air force would wear, became huge the last few years and honestly everyone needs one of these jackets. This jacket is easy to layer with a hoodie, like I did, or wear a vest underneath or just have a plain t-shirt on. Whatever you do you can not do anything wrong with this jacket (unless you don’t own one, then you are doing something wrong 😝😂)

4. Leather Jacket

I’m here to say that that myth is very true. But this “bad boy” look just fits so perfectly can you blame me? They also say that fashion just repeats itself throughout the decades. Well, those people are also right. The ’50s knew what they were doing with the leather jacket, because who doesn’t love these bad boys vibes a la Grease. If you are going out to nightlife, want to feel a bit edgy, or just want to look like people can’t mess with you (cue me trying to look tough in these photos 😂), put this jacket on and you are set.

I finished this look with my Stan Smiths to try to break the all-black and add a pop to it to match with the white on my shirt (and I just love Adidas with all my heart).

Those are my favorite go-to jackets for this winter. I have a bunch more and it was hard to narrow them all down to these four, but you’ll see my other faves soon enough 😜😘😉. Let me know in the comments what your favorite jacket/look is of these that I listed or one of your own that I didn’t mention in this list!

Shoutout to my best friend Cassandra for taking these AMAZING photos of me. She is a goddess with a camera.

Until next time!

Sean ❤
